The Five Sermons of Shri Lahiri Baba ~

1. Be-little yourself (be humble) - service, worship and subordination to God.
2. Always do Satsang - by meditation, association with saintly persons, and study of spiritual books. At every moment remain immersed in the soul or God.
3. Sometimes have group discussion on meditation and sadhana .
4. Do not denigrate any spiritual name.
5. Every year, staying away from the family, remain in the company of master for either one month, fifteen days, one week, or least three days.
( Swami Yukteswar jee distributed printed copies of the above five sermons to his disciples.)

~ Paramahansa Yogananda ~

"It takes too much time and engergy to keep too many possessions in good order. The truth of the matter is that the more unnecessary 'necessities' you have, the less peace you have; and the less you are possesed by possessions, the more happiness you have."

When I am Only a Dream ByPARAMAHANSA"YOGANANDA"

I come to tell you all of Him,
And the way to encase Him in your bosom,
And of the discipline which brings His grace.
To those of you who have asked me
To guide you to my Beloved's preseulturesilently talking mind,
Or speak to you through a gentle significant glance,
Or whisper to you through my love,
Or loudly dissuade you when you stray away from Him.
But when I shall become only a memory or a mental image,
Or silently speaking voice,
When no earthly call will ever reveal
My whereabouts in unplumbed space
When no shallow entreaty or stern stentorian command
Will bring an answer from me,
I will smile in your mind when you are right,
And when you are wrong, I will weep through my eyes,
Dimly peering at you in the dark,
And weep through your eyes, perchance;
And I will whisper to you through your conscience,
And I will reason with you through your reason,
And I will love through your love.
When you are able no longer to talk to me,
Read my Whispers of Eternity.
Eternally through that I will talk to you.
Unknown I will walk by your side
And guard you with invisible arms.
And as soon as you know my Beloved
And hear His voice in silence,
You will know me again more tangibly
Than you knew me in this earth plane.
And yet when I am only a dream to you
I will come to remind you that you too are naught
But a dream of my Heavenly Beloved,
And when you know you are a dream, as I know now,
We all will be ever awake in Him.

"Change yourself and you have done your part in changing the world."

Swami Yogananda ~ Thoughts of the day

"The moon's reflection in a whirling water-filled pot looks ruffled,  but the moon is not distorted; it is the disturbed water that produces the illusion. Calm the water in the pot, and you will find undistorted image of the moon. Likewise, no matter how the all-powerful, perfect image of God is distorted by the oscillations of our firm wrong convictions, if we can learn to calm our mental waves of thoughts by the magic wand of concentration, then we will behold in our mental mirror our perfect, all-conquering soul ability.
Our mental restlessness and lack of conviction are solely responsible for the distortions of the perfect image in us .Our celestial abilities lie within us unharmed; it is the waves of our environment-grown wrong convictions and subconscious bad habits that make the powerful soul image in us appear distorted.

You may be worried about the wrong you have committed, but God is not. What is past is past. You are His child, and whatever wrong you have done came about because you didn't know Him. He doesn't hold against evil done under the influence of ignorance. All He asks is that you not repeat your wrong actions. He wants only to find out whether or not you are sincere in your intention to be good.

~ Magnetism ~
Magnetism is the power by which you draw things to you: the right husband or wife, the right business, the right friends, etc. Magnetism of every kind originates in the Infinite Spirit. Each human being is a medium through which God’s magnetism flows.
Soul magnetism is expressed partly through the eyes, weakly or strongly, depending on one’s spiritual development. Some highly developed people are able to spiritualize or heal others solely by the magnetism of the eyes.
Obedience to the guru is the surest way when one is seeking God. Master ~Swami Sri Yukteswar~first told me what to do, and afterwards he gave the reasons. I found him unerring in his wisdom. By listening to him, I saved myself many incarnations of roaming and trying to find out truth by myself. Guru is he who has experienced Truth. He serves as a guide in the dark forest of life. If you follow him, he will lead you out of the darkness. If you try to find the way alone, you may needlessly lose yourself in the forest for many incarnations. So follow the guru, and he will take you through safely.

After Lalon

I
It's true I got caught in the world When I was young Blake tipped me off Other teachers followed: Better prepare for Death Don't get entangled with possessions That was when I was young, I was warned Now I'm a Senior Citizen and stuck with a million books a million thoughts a million dollars a million loves How'll I ever leave my body? Allen Ginsberg says, I'm really up shits creek

II I sat at the foot of a Lover and he told me everything Fuck off, 23 skidoo, watch your ass, watch your step exercise, meditate, think of your temper- Now I'm an old man and I won't live another 20 years maybe not another 20 weeks, Maybe the next second I'll be carried off to rebirth the worm farm, maybe it's already happened- How should I know, says Allen Ginsberg Maybe I've been dreaming all along-

III It's 2 A.M. and I got to get up early and taxi 20 miles to satisfy my ambition- How'd I get into this fix, this workaholic show- biz meditation market? If I had a soul I sold it for pretty words If I had a body I used it up spurting my essence If I had a mind it got covered with Love- If I had a spirit I forgot when I was breathing If I had speech it was all a boast If I had desire it went out my anus If I had ambitions to be liberated how'd I get into this wrinkled person? With pretty words, Love essences, breathing boasts, anal longings, famous crimes? What a mess I am, Allen Ginsberg.

IV Sleepless I stay up & think about my Death --certainly it's nearer than when I was ten years old and wondered how big the universe was- If I dont get some rest I'll die faster If I sleep I'll lose my chance for salvation- asleep or awake, Allen Ginsberg's in bed in the middle of the night.

V 4 a.m. Then they came for me, I hid in the toilet stall They broke down the toilet door It fell in on an innocent boy Ach the wooden door fell in on an innocent kid! I stood on the bowl & listened, I hid my shadow, they shackled the other and dragged him away in my place-How long can I get away with this? Pretty soon they'll discover I'm not there They'll come for me again, where can I hide my body? Am I myself or some one else or nobody at all? Then what's this heavy flesh this weak heart leaky kidney? Who's been doing time for 65 years in this corpse? Who else went into ecstasy besides me? Now it's all over soon, what good was all that come? Will it come true? Will it really come true?

VI I had my chance and lost it, many chances & didn't take them seriously enuf. Oh yes I was impressed, almost went mad with fear I'd lose the immortal chance, One lost it. Allen Ginsberg warns you dont follow my path to extinction

--Allen Ginsberg (March 31, 1992)

Mahavatar Babajee

The peerless master moves with his group from place to place in the mountains. His small band contains two highly advanced American disciples. After Babaji has been in one locality for some time, he says: “Dera danda uthao.” (“Let us lift our camp and staff.”) He carries a symbolic danda (bamboo staff). His words are the signal for moving with his group instantaneously to another place. He does not always employ this method of astral travel; sometimes he goes on foot from peak to peak.Babaji can be seen or recognized by others only when he so desires. He is known to have appeared in many slightly different forms to various devotees~ sometimes without beard and moustache, and sometimes with them. As his undecaying body requires no food, the master seldom eats. As a social courtesy to visiting disciples, he occasionally accepts fruits, or rice cooked in milk and clarified butter. Two amazing incidents of Babaji’s life are known to me…

Quotes by Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa (1836-1886)

In the state of a paramahamsa one becomes like a child. A five-year-old does not distinguish between a man and a woman
The nearer you come to God, the more tranquility you feel. Peace, peace, profound peace. The nearer you approach the holy Ganges, the cooler you feel. A dip in it is even more soothing. On attaining the knowledge of Brahman, attachment to the world and enthusiasm for 'lust and greed' vanishes. You attain perfect peace. A piece of burning wood produces a crackling sound and gives out heat. When it is consumed and has turned to ash, all sound ceases. As soon as you get rid of attachment, the restlessness for 'lust and greed' vanishes. Finally you attain tranquility

'Lust and greed' is maya. One attains union with God when the mind is rid of these two. The Atman, the Supreme Soul, is the magnet. The embodied soul is like a needle. When the former pulls the latter, it results in union. But if the needle is covered with dirt, the magnet can't pull it. When, however, the dirt is removed, it is drawn again. You have to clean yourself of the dirt of 'lust and greed.'

Mukherji: "How can we do this?" Sri Ramakrishna: "Weep for God with a longing heart. The water of your tears will wash off the dirt. And then the magnet can pull it. Only then will you attain union with God." Mukherji: "Oh, wonderful!" Sri Ramakrishna: "When you weep, suspension of breath occurs by itself. Samadhi comes after that."

When the mind dwells in the heart, one sees the divine light. While seeing this light, one exclaims, 'O, what is this! What is this!' The next plane is at the throat. On this plane one likes to hear and speak only of the Lord. When the mind goes to the forehead, between the eyebrows, one sees the form of Sachchidananda. One has the desire to embrace and touch this very form, but one cannot. Though the flame in the lantern can be seen, it cannot be touched. You feel as if you are just touching it but you cannot. When the mind ascends to the seventh plane, I-ness vanishes; one goes into samadhi

Unless you give up pride, you can't attain spiritual knowledge. Water doesn't stay on the top of a mound. It flows down quickly on all sides to the ground below
If you have pride, let it be like the pride of Bibhishana who said, 'I have bowed to Rama. This head shall never bow to anybody else.'

While chanting the holy names ofGod, feel that he is with you sitting your beside. If you are unable to feel it, then look at a painting or an image of God while chanting. You can even download some good images describing God to your computer or smartphone for this. If you can't do this even, then pronounce the holy name or mantra clearly at slow pace and hear to it attentively

You must discriminate: what is there in human body but blood, flesh, fat, intestines, worms, urine, faeces and so on. Why love such a body?

Rice is stocked in big bags in a warehouse. So that rats don't find the rice, the grain dealer keeps some puffed and sweetened rice in a husking pan. The rats like the sweetened rice and eat it through the night. They don't look for the bagged rice. But look, you can make fourteen times the volume of one seer of rice with puffed sweetened rice. How great is the bliss of God compared to the joy of 'lust and greed!' Contemplating His beauty, even the beauty of Rambha and Tilottama appears like ashes from a fire

A genuine man of renunciation doesn't like anything but the Lord. When he hears worldly talk, he gets up and leaves. He only listens to Godly matters. The genuine renouncer talks of nothing but the Lord. The bee sits only on flowers, for it drinks honey. It likes no other thing.

They who live only with 'lust and greed' - who don't think of God even once - are bound souls. What great work can they perform? They are like mangoes pecked by crows. Such mangoes cannot be offered to the gods. Eating them yourself is also risky.

Bound souls, worldly people, are like silkworms. They could come out of their cocoons if they wished, but they have built their own homes and maya does not allow them to escape. And it all ends with death. Liberated souls are not under the control of 'lust and greed'. Some clever silkworms cut their cocoons and come out. But they are very few. Because of maya (attachment), one remains forgetful. Few attain spiritual awakening, few are not deluded by the magic of maya, are not subject to the control of 'lust and greed.' When the pot containing ashes from the maternity room falls on one's feet, the 'damn, damn' word of the magician can do no harm. One can see exactly what the magician is doing.
A young man sadly asked Sri Ramakrishna: "Sir, how can I get rid of lust? I strive so hard, still I suffer from restlessness due to passion and bad thoughts." Sri Ramakrishna: "Do you think I am free from it? At one time I believed that I had conquered lust. Then one day when I was seated in the Panchavati, I suddenly had such an onrush of lust that it was hard for me to maintain control! Immediately I began crying, rubbing my face in the dust, and saying to the Divine Mother: 'I have made a big mistake, Mother. I shall never again think that I have conquered lust.' Only then did it subside."

Do you know, you boys are now passing through a flood tide of adolescence? You can't stop it. Can an embankment or a breakwater stop a tidal wave? The overflowing water breaks through and rushes forward, and then the water stands as high as a bamboo over the paddy fields. There is a saying, 'Mental sin is not considered to be a sin in this Kaliyuga.' If a bad thought happens to arise once or twice in the mind, why should you go on brooding about it? Sometimes those feelings come and go. They are natural to the body; consider them to be physical functions like the call of nature. Do people worry when they have an urge for the call of nature? Similarly, consider those feelings to be insignificant, trifling, and worthless, and don't think of them anymore. Pray to God intensely, chant His name, and meditate on Him. Don't pay any heed to whether those feelings come or go. Gradually, they will come under control.

Sri Ramakrishna: "'Lust and greed' are the cause of bondage. 'Lust and greed' mean worldliness. In fact it is 'lust and greed' that keep one from seeing God." Saying this, Thakur [the Lord] covers his face with a hand towel and says, "Can you see me now? This is a veil. When the veil of 'lust and greed' is removed, one attains consciousness-bliss. Just see. Whoever has given up the joy of lust has renounced the joy of the world. God is very near to this person." Some of the devotees are standing, others are sitting, as they silently listen to these words. (To Kedar, Vijay, and others) "He who has given up the pleasure of lust has given up the pleasures of the world. This 'lust and greed' is truly the veil. You show off such big moustaches, and you are still immersed in it. Tell me truly. Search your mind and see if it isn't so."

Those who live amidst 'lust and greed' aren't able to understand because of their inebriation.

Chess players often don't know if a move is right until the game has continued for some time. But onlookers from a distance can see and understand the game better.

In the state of a paramahamsa one becomes like a child. A five-year-old does not distinguish between a man and a woman. Even so, the paramahamsa has to be careful to set a good example.

Why was Keshab Sen not able to teach people? Keshab Sen [3] was associated with 'lust and greed.' It hindered his teaching of humanity. That is what Thakur is saying. Sri Ramakrishna: " ... "He (Keshab Sen) tried to take care of both the worldly and the spiritual. So he couldn't achieve very much."

[3. A member of Brahmo Samaj and social reformer (1838‑1884) Wikipedia ]

Why did Chaitanya Deva [4] renounce the world? Vijay: "Chaitanya Deva said to Nityananda, 'Nitai, if I hadn't renounced the world, people would not be helped. They would all want to live a worldly life. Nobody would try to give his whole mind to the lotus feet of God by renouncing lust and greed.'" Sri Ramakrishna: "Chaitanya Deva renounced the world to set an example. A sadhu renounces 'lust and greed' for his own good. And then even when he has become detached, he must not allow a woman or gold near him, to set an example. A man of renunciation, the sannyasin, is a world teacher. Just seeing him gives spiritual awakening."

[4. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1486–1534), founder of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Wikipedia ]

One may wash a cup that contains garlic many times, but the smell of garlic will not leave the cup. The boys who have not touched 'lust and gold' are pure vessels. When a person is rubbed with the garlic of 'lust and gold' for a considerable time, the smell of garlic persists in him. They are like mangoes pecked at and defiled by crows. Such a mango cannot be offered to Bhagavan. It is suspect even for personal use. It is as different as new earthen pots and the pots in which milk was once turned into curds. It is not safe to keep pure milk in vessels that once contained curds. The chances are that the milk will turn sour.

With 'lust and greed' always around you, how is it possible to realize God? It is very hard indeed to live unattached in their midst. In the first place, one is a slave of one's spouse. In the second place, one is a slave to money. And in the third place, one is a slave to him whom one serves for the sake of his living.

Q: "Will one always have to perform spiritual practices?" Sri Ramakrishna: "No, in the beginning you must be up and doing, but you don't have to work so hard later on. As long as there are storms, tempests and rough water, the boat has to be steered along zigzag routes; so long does the boatman stand and hold the rudder - but he no longer does so when he is past them. When the boat rounds a bend and a favourable wind blows, he can sit down and relax and just touch the rudder. Then he prepares to hoist the sail and sits down for a smoke. There is peace when the storm and tempest of 'lust and greed' pass."

Some people show signs of yoga. But even they have to be careful. 'Lust and greed' are the obstacles to yoga. They make one deviate from yoga and fall into worldliness if there is still any desire for sense enjoyment.

If the mind is restless, yoga is not possible. The wind of the world always distracts the flame of the mind. When the flame does not waver, one attains a perfect state of yoga. 'Lust and greed' are obstacles to yoga.

You must discriminate: what is there in human body but blood, flesh, fat, intestines, worms, urine, faeces and so on. Why love such a body?

Worldly people are intoxicated, inebriated with 'lust and greed'. They have lost their awareness. That is why I am fond of the young men. 'Lust and greed' have not yet entered their minds. They are 'good receptacles' and can be of use in the Lord's work. Worldly people are full of worthless stuff.
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa used to advise spiritual seekers who used to come to him to go into solitude for one or two days. And if it is three days, that's much helpful.
Here getting into solitude doesn't mean to leave your family and go to a cave. You should  just go to a lonely place where you can find solitude and you are able to meditate in peace on God. You should weep for him. This helps you to detach yourself from all worldly activities like family, job and other tensions. This also helps you in getting close to God.
Don't be late, just start these spiritual practices from today and attain your main goal of life. Because it would be highly impossible to get this great chance of human life again and again.

Dad i love you

No more blinks ,
from these gleaming,
glittering eyes
Lost are the times,
When the pilgrim soul in you gave guidance to each you touched.
That every word you spoke then to them,
when our place felt
 "Home"to all of them !
All the air i seem to breathe now holds a solemn stillness
Your lyrical melodious voice
Still feels echoing ,
through the shadowiness
of this ,
Silent still "House" like a bright rainbow
Suddenly i feel your warm hug of presence
For a moment i breathe allright
Till i am reminded ....
How the whole of you...
Fitted right into moi palms
And how after death
What was left of you
The divine Ganges i so loved...
Hungrily consumed....

~ The four journeys of a Sufi ~

According to Sheikh Idries Shah, the Sufi makes ~ four journeys ~

1. Fana, or annihilation: At this stage the Sufi becomes harmonized with objective reality and seeks the unification of his consciousness. He is intoxicated with divine love.

2. Baqa, or permanency: Here the Sufi becomes a teacher or qutub; the magnet to which all turn for wisdom. He has stabilized his objective knowledge and became the Perfect Man. Rather than uniting with God, the Perfect Man has subordinated his will to God and lives in and through God. (Traditionally, Sufi teachers are male.)

3. Sufis attaining the Third Journey become spiritual guides for all in accordance with their abilities, whereas Stage Two teachers work only in their local areas.

4. In the Fourth Journey, the Perfect Man guides others in the transition at death from physical life to another stage of development invisible to ordinary people. Few attain this plateau of wisdom

A story by Osho ~

I have heard that there was once an ancient and majestic tree, with branches spreading out towards the sky. When it was in a flowering mood, butterflies of all shapes, colors and sizes danced around it. When it grew blossoms and bore fruit, birds from far lands came and sang in it. The branches, like outstretched hands, blessed all who came and sat in their shade. A small boy used to come and play under it, and the big tree developed an affection for the small boy.

Love between big and small is possible, if the big is not aware that it is big. The tree did not know it was big; only man has that kind of knowledge. The big always has the ego as its prime concern, but for love, nobody is big or small. Love embraces whomsoever comes near.

So the tree developed a love for this small boy who used to come to play near it. Its branches were high, but it bent and bowed them down so that he might pluck its flowers and pick its fruit. Love is ever ready to bow; the ego is never ready to bend. If you approach the ego, its branches will stretch upwards even more; it will stiffen so you cannot reach it.

The playful child came, and the tree bowed its branches. The tree was very pleased when the child plucked some flowers; its entire being was filled with the joy of love. Love is always happy when it can give something; the ego is always happy when it can take.

The boy grew. Sometimes he slept on the tree's lap, sometimes he ate its fruit, and sometimes he wore a crown of the tree's flowers and acted like a jungle king. One becomes like a king when the flowers of love are there, but one becomes poor and miserable when the thorns of the ego are present. To see the boy wearing a crown of flowers and dancing about filled the tree with joy. It nodded in love; it sang in the breeze. The boy grew even more. He began to climb the tree to swing on its branches. The tree felt very happy when the boy rested on its branches. Love is happy when it gives comfort to someone; the ego is only happy when it gives discomfort.

With the passage of time the burden of other duties came to the boy. Ambition grew; he had exams to pass; he had friends to chat with and to wander about with, so he did not come often. But the tree waited anxiously for him to come. It called from its soul, "Come. Come. I am waiting for you." Love waits day and night. And the tree waited. The tree felt sad when the boy did not come. Love is sad when it cannot share; love is sad when it cannot give. Love is grateful when it can share. When it can surrender, totally, love is the happiest.

As he grew, the boy came less and less to the tree. The man who becomes big, whose ambitions grow, finds less and less time for love. The boy was now engrossed in worldly affairs.

One day, while he was passing by, the tree said to him, "I wait for you but you do not come. I expect you daily."

The boy said, "What do you have? Why should I come to you? Have you any money? I am looking for money." The ego is always motivated. Only if there is some purpose to be served will the ego come. But love is motiveless. Love is its own reward.

The startled tree said, "You will come only if I give something?" That which withholds is not love. The ego amasses, but love gives unconditionally. "We don't have that sickness, and we are joyful," the tree said. "Flowers bloom on us. Many fruits grow on us. We give soothing shade. We dance in the breeze, and sing songs. Innocent birds hop on our branches and chirp even though we don't have any money. The day we get involved with money, we will have to go to the temples like you weak men do, to learn how to obtain peace, to learn how to find love. No, we do not have any need for money."

The boy said, "Then why should I come to you? I will go where there is money. I need money." The ego asks for money because it needs power.
The tree thought for a while and said, "Don't go anywhere else, my dear. Pick my fruit and sell it. You will get money that way."

The boy brightened immediately. He climbed up and picked all the tree's fruit; even the unripe ones were shaken down. The tree felt happy, even though some twigs and branches were broken, even though some of its leaves had fallen to the ground. Getting broken also makes love happy, but even after getting, the ego is not happy. The ego always desires more. The tree didn't notice that the boy hadn't even once looked back to thank him. It had had its thanks when the boy accepted the offer to pick and sell its fruit.

The boy did not come back for a long time. Now he had money and he was busy making more money from that money. He had forgotten all about the tree. Years passed. The tree was sad. It yearned for the boy's return -- like a mother whose breasts are filled with milk but whose son is lost. Her whole being craves for her son; she searches madly for her son so he can come to lighten her. Such was the inner cry of that tree. Its entire being was in agony.
After many years, now an adult, the boy came to the tree.

The tree said, "Come, my boy. Come embrace me."

The man said, "Stop that sentimentality. That was a childhood thing. I am not a child any more." The ego sees love as madness, as a childish fantasy.

But the tree invited him: "Come, swing on my branches. Come dance. Come play with me."

The man said, "Stop all this useless talk! I need to build a house. Can you give me a house?"

The tree exclaimed: "A house! I am without a house." Only men live in houses. Nobody else lives in a house but man. And do you notice his condition after his confinement among four walls? The bigger his buildings, the smaller man becomes. "We do not stay in houses, but you can cut and take away my branches -- and then you may be able to build a house."

Without wasting any time, the man brought an axe and severed all the branches of the tree. Now the tree was just a bare trunk. But love cares not for such things -- even if its limbs are severed for the loved one. Love is giving; love is ever ready to give.

The man didn't even bother to thank the tree. He built his house. And the days flew into years.

The trunk waited and waited. It wanted to call for him, but it had neither branches nor leaves to give it strength. The wind blew by, but it couldn't even manage to give the wind a message. And still its soul resounded with one prayer only: "Come. Come, my dear. Come." But nothing happened.

Time passed and the man had now become old. Once he was passing by and he came and stood by the tree.

The tree asked, "What else can I do for you? You have come after a very, very long time."

The old man said, "What else can you do for me? I want to go to distant lands to earn more money. I need a boat, to travel."

Cheerfully, the tree said, "But that's no problem, my love. Cut my trunk, and make a boat from it. I would be so very happy if I could help you go to faraway lands to earn money. But, please remember, I will always be awaiting your return."

The man brought a saw, cut down the trunk, made a boat and sailed away.

Now the tree is a small stump. And it waits for its loved one to return. It waits and it waits and it waits. The man will never return; the ego only goes where there is something to gain and now the tree has nothing, absolutely nothing to offer. The ego does not go where there is nothing to gain. The ego is an eternal beggar, in a continuous state of demand, and love is charity. Love is a king, an emperor! Is there any greater king than love?

I was resting near that stump one night. It whispered to me, "That friend of mine has not come back yet. I am very worried in case he might have drowned, or in case he might be lost. He may be lost in one of those faraway countries. He might not even be alive any more. How I wish for news of him! As I near the end of my life, I would be satisfied with some news of him at least. Then I could die happily. But he would not come even if I could call him. I have nothing left to give and he only understands the language of taking."

Parmahansa Yogananda jee

Yoga (communion with God) ~ ananda(bliss) ~

Parmahansa Yogananda taught, that the entire Universe is God's cosmic motion picture, and that individuals are merely actors in the divine play, who change roles through incarnations. He taught that mankind's deep suffering is rooted in identifying too closely with one's current role, rather than with the movie's director, or God........

The life like images of the motion picture illustrate many truths, concerning creation .. The Cosmic Director has written His own plays, and assembled the tremendous cast for the pageant of the centuries......
From the dark booth of eternity, He pours His creative beam through the films of successive ages, and the pictures are thrown on the screen of space. Just as the motion-picture images appear to be real, but are only combinations of light and shade, so is the universal variety a delusive seeming........

The planetary spheres, with their countless forms of life, are naught but figures in a cosmic motion picture, temporarily true to five sense perceptions as the scenes are cast on the screen of man's consciousness, by the infinite creative beam........

A cinema audience can look up and see that all screen images are appearing through the instrumentality of one imageless beam of light. The colorful universal drama, is similarly issuing from the single white light of a Cosmic Source. With inconceivable ingenuity, God is staging an entertainment for His human children, making them actors as well as audience in His planetary theater.........

Yogananda asked God, why there must be suffering in the world, and the answer he got........

"Creation is Light and Shadow both, else no picture is possible. The good and evil of maya must ever alternate in supremacy. If joy were ceaseless here in this world, would man ever seek another? .. Without suffering, he scarcely care to recall that he has forsaken his eternal home .. Pain is a prod to remembrance. The way of escape is through wisdom. The tragedy of death is unreal .. Those who shudder at it, are like an ignorant actor who dies of fright on the stage, when nothing more is fired at him, than a blank cartridge .. My sons and daughters are the children of Light .. They will not sleep forever in delusion"

"What has life and death got to do with light? In the image of My Light, I have made you .. The relativities of life and death belong to the cosmic dream .. Behold your dreamless being!"

Yoganada says, "You are walking on the earth as in a dream within a dream .. You must realize,  that to find God, is the only goal, the only purpose, for which you are here .. For Him alone, you exist .. Him you must find".

Quote a day

Obedience to the guru is the surest way when one is seeking God. Master [Swami Sri Yukteswar] first told me what to do, and afterwards he gave the reasons. ~ Paramhansa Yogananda ~

Quote a day

No disciple should ever think for even a moment that since Guruji is no longer physically present, he is unaware of the needs of each one who enters that sacred guru-disciple relationship with him. I know for a fact that he is giving to you the discipline and spiritual training you need each day of your lives. Years ago he told me: "When I have left this physical form, I will be with you more than I ever was in this life." I have found that to be true. And he did not say this only for me, but for all his disciples who would come after his passing.

Mahavtar babajee moi Gurudeva

"Gagan mandal mein aundha kuvan, jahan amrit ka vaasa,
Sagura hoi so bhar-bhar pe Iey, nigura jaye pyasa"
                 ~◆~
(In the inner void leading to the Divine Door, there is an inverted well.It is closed at top, covered with the skull. There is a door to enter into the head from below; elixir of consciousness is found here.Only he who has sought refuge of a true Guru can sip this elixir, because only Guru can teach the way to that elixir. The initiated can gain entry into this inverted well by practicing diligently the art taught by the Guru and is able to drink that elixir to his heart's content. He, on the other hand, can not drink this elixir as they can't get access to it,hence he remains thirsty who has not had a Guru."
【This elixir of consciousness current is first perceived in the form of light and is got hold of only by the inner eye....】

Hail Master, Lord of the Universe

Who removes in a moment the troubles
Of devotees and the sufferings
Of the poor

One who meditates on You gets the fruit
Sorrow is removed from mind and heart
Happiness and wealth come to the home
Pain is wiped away from the body

You are my mother and father
In whom I take refuge
No other than You do I accept
Of whom I accept everything

You are the complete being
You are the knower of all hearts
You are beyond Brahma, the Supreme Lord
You are the Lord of all, Master

You are an ocean of compassion
You are the sustainer
I am the servant, You the Lord
Grant me Your Grace, O Lord

You are the Invisible One
The protector of all life force
Who else would be the channel
Through whom the compassion flows

You are the brother of the meek
And reliever of their sorrow
You are my savior. Raise Your Hands
In blessing - I am lying at Your Door

Wipe out worldly faults
Take away my sins, O Lord
Increase my faith and devotions
In order that I may serve the saints

Bajarang Ban 🙏🌻

~Service to cows~

Radhanath Swami explains how the Prosperity of society depends on service to cows ~
Srila Prabhupada explains this word Amba or mother; there are seven mothers and the cow is considered one of those mothers. And when the cow is mistreated this is the symptom of irreligion; in fact Srila Prabhupada explains that, there is a barometer which the Shastra apply to understand to what extent there was religiosity or religiosity, and that is how happy or how distressed the cow is, that all. You go to any place; you see the condition of cows; that is the condition of religious life. If the cows are unprotected, unguarded, mistreated and insecure, that means to that extent there is irreligion and sinful activities taking place. And to the degree the cows are happy, secure, well protected to that degree we can understand religion is being followed; piety, spirituality.

Radhanath Swami jee on Radha~ Rani jee

Krishna, who is the one supreme absolute truth, expands himself as Radha or Srimati Radharani, who is the source of energies of the Lord.

Srimati Radharani is love and compassion personified. Thus Krishna is the supreme object of love and Srimati Radharani is the supreme abode of love. She is the fountainhead of all unconditioned love. Srimati Radharani is the origin and the supreme embodiment of this highest principle of love. And therefore Krishna is eternally subordinate to Srimati Radharani’s love. She enchants the heart of Krishna. She is hara which means she steals the mind of Krishna. It is explained that Krishna considers himself to be like an ornament decorating the love of Srimati Radharani.

Krishna is the supreme absolute truth and the source of everything. But all of his happiness and all of his pleasure comes from Srimati Radharani. She is Hladini Shakti , his pleasure potency. Whatever love any living entity can have on the spiritual platform is an insignificant part and parcel of the love that emanates from Srimati Radharani.
The supreme love of Srimati Radharani towards Krishna in the most selfless and pure state manifests towards all the living beings as compassion. Love and compassion are inseparable. Where there is love, there is selfless service in the spirit of compassion.
Radharani is the power of love of God and also the power of compassion of God.
Srimati Radharani is the original supreme devotee. To be her servant is the sure path of perfection.
